10:13 CDT ========================================================================== This past Friday was a work-from-home day. Such days are like a raise in pay for me, since I'm not using time and fuel to travel to and from Austin. This was starting one of Wrangler Country's ocassional '3-day concert tours'. ;) Saturday was just too damned hot to do much during the day. Our younger daughter approached me with questions about the IT profession in general. She expressed some interest in getting a certification or two. Like me, she fools with computers as a hobby. I told her that was the way I switched to IT: I was in it as a hobby, then decided to make an attempt to change career fields. I happened to have the cards fall into place. 28 years later, here I was. I told her I would bring some books home from my office on campus. She may take to such a change like a duck to water. All I can do is to encourage her. On Sunday morning before I had to leave for my gig, I had to take the weed eater to the front yard. Because of the heat, I had gotten behind on the growth. My wife uses native plants for the front yard. We haven't had grass in the front yard for years. I can't remember the last time that I used a lawnmower.
