I spent a good part of the morning and early afternoon, to using the 
weed eater, and burning off some old grapefruit tree trunks. 

Years ago, we had a few grapefruit trees sprout up out of nowhere in our 
backyard. They thrived, and grew into decent shade trees. They also 
provided a safe place for our local dove population to nest in.

After about 7 years passed, we had a bumper crop of grapefruit. It was 
cool to be able to walk outside, pick a grapefruit from a tree, and 
eat it right then and there. Unfortunately, Winter Storm Uri had 
rolled down into Texas, and killed the trees. I trimmed off the 
branches, and left the trunks standing. My wife would hang things like 
lights and hummingbird feeders on them. 

Finally, the trunks started loosening at the base. We had to push them 
down, and chop them up with the chainsaw. Today, I finally got off my 
ass, and burned a lot of the wood today.

How did I end up talking about grapefruit trees? :)
