Mesquite Hall, Adkins, TX This venue has a reputation of not having air conditioning. This gig was a "Back to School" dance with a family-oriented theme. Unfortunately, there wasn't a big crowd. I'm grateful that we weren't being paid by the door. The people who did come stayed for the entire night. During the first break, somebody came up to me asking to pick my brain about a steel guitar he had inherited. He showed me the pictures, and it was an old MSA Red Baron student steel guitar, a single neck 10-string with 3 pedals and 1 knee lever. He was asking about more info on it, and a possible price to sell it. I referred him to The Steel Guitar Forum (https://steelguitarforum.com) for more info. In my 46 years of playing, that was the first time somebody came up to me to ask about a guitar. We got through the night just fine. I will say that I liked the sound my rig was producing. The room is large enough to let me "air things out" a bit. ;)
