		bedecked untruly
		prancing like a pony in lakota dakota buckskins
		having nothing to do with the illini or the illiniwek
		the real saul and fox these parts indians
		or their driven to despair warchief chief blackhawk
		or the murdered on a peace passage chief pontiac
		any of the greats in those swiss artist's exacting prints
		with silver peace medals on their muscled open chests
		arms festooned in feathers of a bird no longer around
		when unborn bill hickock's preacher father and underground
		railroad slave spiriter moved out from vermont in 1831
		to take up a homestead in upper vermilion river valley
		still wooded
		in troy grove south of rockford in north central illinois
		breaking the low grass of prairie into surgery of topsoil
		the buffalo and the local nations of indians not yet gone
