MomoTaro Colorful words Sun May 13 19:02:50 2001 One thing that seems so apparent on this message board is the language that's used to help one make their point is unnecessarily colorful. It APPEARS those who are trying to prove their point about radio now, versus radio of the past, tend to use swear words. It's not necessary. In fact, what it does is takes away a great deal of credibility from the post. The use of swear words is indicative of some of the new radio employees. Many have an attitude as if they have arrived and everyone else should step aside. It's an over-inflated ego with no substance. Whenever their point can't be made as a professional, they feel as if they have to swear to add impact. Regardless of whether one agrees with Gramps or not, once someone loses their cool and starts using swear words, they've lost. It's the same scenario when CC's Jeff Silvers used his brand of intimidation...there was no respect for the most part for him. THE HELM. It's a medium that will never go away. New technology or not, it's still going to be there. New comers to the business don't necessarily make it a better medium then it was. Let's cut the swearing and the egos...Intelligent discussion is what I believe this board is all about. -------------------------------------------------------------- mel self regulation Mon May 14 07:38:19 2001 Can we all be civil in our disagreements? The use of profanity on this message board will not be tolerated as of the posting of this message. You can all agree to disagree on a variety of topics, but from this point on the use of profanity will not fly here. Messages containing profanity will be deleted. Also if this use becomes an epidemic, then I will probably have this message board discontinued. I am hoping that you can all practice self restraint and discipline and refrain from the use of profanity. Thank you all for understanding.
