Heather: Boys vs Girls Education: Oh, that's a subject FULL of
   controversial stuff! :) Boys are not encouraged to read and
   write - they're encouraged in math and science, girls are
   discouraged from math + science, and encouraged to read and
   write. Whens the last time someone put out a "boys own
   adventure" type book? (boy gets scooped up in some great
   adventure, fighting pirates or space aliens, his ingenuity and
   inventiveness saves the day) - I hope somebody's still writing
   and publishing these types of books - they're great for
   self-esteem. all you see is fantasy books, magical spells and
   things - which are fine, but there ARE other types of things
   kids MIGHT just like to read. "
