Oh warnings are good. But excess hyperbole can lead to not caring after a while. I was never raised in an environment of doom + gloom, "do something now before it's too late" environment. I had my own global anxieties; The Bomb felt real. I drew pictures of it growing up, learned about it, became fascinated by physics and the powers that lurk deep within matter itself at a young age. Life long fascination in fact. Compare "Global Thermonuclear War" to today's 3 minutes to midnight? Everybody's vaporized vs life is awkward and uncomfortable for some or many. In both cases, I look around me. What can I do? Talk? Get OTHER people excited about the falling-of-the-sky? I _could_. But what good does it do in the end but something to talk about? I'd rather talk about positive futures.
