I think the article author might have been slightly exaggerating the ignorance of other parents and teachers and over-exaggerating her parental wisdom and the masses being amazed or stunned for effect - but that's what makes a good story to tell. Or it could be just as she said. Hm, if I was in your shoes and I was concerned about it, I'd probably watch as many youtube video and read as many articles I could about the "how to talk to kids about this stuff" until I found something that seemed doable. Probably a combination of methods but considering that many many parents and caregivers have done what you're planning to do, there's a whole menu full of methods available. My mother just threw a set of 4 books on sex ed when I was 10-11 and I supplemented my curiousities as they came up at the library. [I went through large parts of the Kinsey Study when I was 13... absolutely astounded and relieved at JUST how much he considered normal for humans... then surprised later on to see that his viewpoints were NOT in fact the predominant view of society.... ... so suddenly I was "too ahead of my time" in outlook. Anyway, that's how I'd proceed: Get advice from all angles, from uber liberal to uber squeamish and everything inbetween. You'll find something that makes you go, "Ok, yes, I can do that". == This book here - still recognize the cover. It was a reference book so I couldn't take it out, but I secretly took the book to a quiet cubicle and went through it, hiding the cover as I walked to it. Every day after school, I'd be in that book, trying to decipher the charts and descriptions of things he was talking about. Two weeks straight. Couldn't put it down or wait to hear what was next in it. This is also the same time I was obssessively reading Guiness book of world records facts and going through the encyclopedia set at home. I NEED the Internet as a kid but it didn't exist yet. tongue emoticon https://books.google.com/books?id=pfMKrY3VvigC&lpg=PP1&dq=kinsey%20study%20book&pg=PP1#v=onepage&q=kinsey%20study%20book&f=false
