Political correct started off as a good thing. I remember just
   after it came out. hampshire college, amherst, ma, uber liberal.
   1990. At the time, I saw it as 'how to be respectful of other
   people". Seemed like a nice idea and I didn't mind
   speaking/writing the lingo. Somewhere along the line though,
   culture changed (university culture as well as surrounding
   culture) and it became a weapon rather than a tool for civil
   discourse. Shame because it was a nice, if misguided notion.
   Suggesting is one thing. Institutionalizing it changes it.
