   touched a 'real book' in a long time but I have a hard drive
   FULL of underground free-book collections. I actually didn't
   even use the free book sites for a long time, but instead I'd go
   trolling around grad-student's FTP sites to find their hidden
   stash of PDF scans. Two best countries were always ch and cz -
   the 'free all information' spirit is alive and well in campuses
   worldwide just as it was in my days on the early 'net before it
   went all commercial smile emoticon
