I always envied analog computers (electronic ones anyway!); I
   always felt they had MORE potential for control because the
   dials. You could deal with actual fractions that weren't
   converted into binary or decimal for example. Oh, I feel
   computers are SO PRIMITIVE right now. It's maddening to me. I'm
   only a little excited about quantum computers working in qubits
   because even THEN, having a good quantum computer _won't_ be
   enough. I have higher aspirations for future computers than
   merely quantum computing*
