   being a child-predator (so that's good) but believing someone
   you meet online based on their profile? Bzzt: Fail.

   It's a registry. It's 4th degree. It says, THIS MAN IS STUPID.

   That's all it does.

   Is it likely that he's GOING TO BE stupid for the next 25 years?
   I don't know. Seems like a long time to learn a lesson. Then
   again, it means at least a generation or two of future
   girlfriends will safely pass by without having to worry about
   him not-paying-attention-and-not-asking-questions and not
   talking to the parents and pretending they live in a world of
   Pure Love where rules don't matter.

   Is the law dumb? Probably. But so was he. They _really_ should
   teach this stuff in school BEFORE the kids are held responsible
   for their actions.
