The best place to find an abundance of archetypes of human personality stereotypes is to look at movies (and other forms of literature; but movies are easiest to access]. If you want a REALLY QUICK way to find a bunch of archetypes, TV commercials have them in ABUNDANCE. 30 seconds or less, and if you analyze each character, they're all super-quick stereotype snapshots that we barely even question, due to continual exposure. Here's the funny thing: Because of how we absorb "who we are" primarily through relating to others' experiences (whether 'real' or 'fictoinal') - we can live THOUSANDS of lifetimes by the time we're, say, 8 yrs old and have watched lots of TV. Each image of a person or person-like thing (Lego Movie for example), are templates with which we can compare ourselves with and against. 'is it me? is it not me?' At one time, perhaps it was just our family. Our pet. Maybe the neighborhood. Other kids once institutionalized schools started up. But with media we get thousands of examples of "what it is to be a person". With the Internet, millions. Not only do we define ourselves based on these archetypes, but we define OTHER using the same metrics. For some AWESOME codification of media archetypes, go to [1]http://tvtropes.com They not only outline *people types", but they also illustrate "life script" types. A lot of our unhappiness in life, is BECAUSE our lives aren't following "a script" that we _believed_ to be true... and not even REALIZING it's a script we're reading off of. This is the stuff I've been studying as well. FASCINATING stuff. References Visible links 1. http://tvtropes.com/
