My Minecraft Dream as a kid. January 4, 2001 _Write a book, starting with the hole in the ground that wasn't there before, opening up.* Base it on the dreams you had as a kid.* 3 of you on the roof.* Keep the theme.* Fill in the backyard, then the pool and other places where time/space/interdimensional travel occurs. _ That's a reminder that I wrote to myself in 2001. The hole in the ground that wasn't there before; well, the moment I laid eyes on Minecraft sometime before I tried it, I thought, "This can't be it; is this the dream I had as a kid?* Can't be!" First time I went in, I knew.* This was the realm of infinite possibilities and adventures that aren't pre-programmed by the game designers.* The "book" I wanted to write wasn't a book at all; the experience I wanted to convey was Minecraft.* It doesn't bother me that someone else created it instead of me; in fact, I'm glad because it was probably an awful lot of work to make it. When I say, "Your dreams can come true", I mean it literally.* They can and do.* You just have to know you've found it when you see it, whatever your dreams may be.
