Yeah. I understand. Not just words there. I really do understand. Three times I had a phrase said to me which turned my whole purpose in life upside down each time: "Nobody asked you". I would put my all into helping people, but I would take too long, not do it the way they wanted to, but usually take longer than they wanted to. I'd explain myself, why I'm doing I'm doing, being as clear as possible, only to hear, "Nobody asked you" from the very people I was trying to help. Devastating. Emotional turmoil inside that nobody saw. After the third time by the same people over a course of years [and many times helping them where I _didn't_ hear those words], I stopped. I stopped helping them. No more initiative from me for their benefit. I didn't hate them. Didn't love them. I just stopped caring either way about them. I decided: "They're right. They didn't ask me." I refocused my energies into finding out what was important to me. I've been on that quest since. But it was hard, hearing exactly the words I didn't want to ever hear. In the end it helped. That's why I said what I did. It may or may not apply to you but all I can share is my story. In short, by agreeing with the very thing I didn't want to hear and transforming it into freedom, I gained new purpose and focus.
