Ah Gardener.* Love the theory.* One of those that may be useful, even if it has a dubious biological basis.* The concept is that people have a preferred channel for learning; auditory, kinesthetic, visual, introspective, etc. It's often used as a justification for having multisensory learning methods.* I'm a believer in it; even if no actual preferred channels have been found biologically just yet.* I think it's practical, as people do seem to have tendencies. It makes logical sense anyway; if one sees the body/brain/environment in terms of input/output, it would make sense that, like any hardware, some function better than others in different people. For me, for example, I tend towards auditory; well, music really; and introspective.* Related to the music, I find myself thinking more in terms of programming rather than mathematical, with for, if/then loops and such. Process thinking I guess. My idea is that perhaps there are different preferred toolsets within the mind; one may be more adept at building thought structures (yes, using a building analogy) using building blocks of analyzed emotional content, while another may find it easier to build structures using logic content.* Equally powerful but ending up with different results when faced with the same situation. hence, cultural differences between men/women or between this group and that group; different assumptions of the world's expectations of you and the behaviors you should exhibit... how you are trained is the "right way to think", etc... all beginning from the time we are babies and someone says, "boy or girl"? and modifies their patterns of interaction accordingly. Is it true?* Darned if I know.* Just something I think about; how concepts are formed initially from birth... and some, even from before. [thumb sucking in the womb/stuff like that.* Got lots of ideas]
