   This movie is, in a word, over-rates. In another word, 
underwhelming.

   We have a main character contracting a sleazy occultist to perform
a multi-month rite for shifting reasons.  She is almost too shallow
to be a real character, he's a at least accurate to the disgusting
loser that "wizards" really are, and the events are too underplayed
with few exceptions.

   If it had borrowed from The Babadook in getting maximum bang from
occult sublety on a low-budget, it could have been something.
