The bottom crescent was the last to disappear while watching  the 
eclipse of the moon this morning, 12/10/11 in Olalla, WA (Puget Sound 
area).   Then the crescent appeared again and then disappeared once more.  
Then it repeated the cycle two more times with varying intensities of 
light, and the crescent finally disappeared for several seconds, maybe a 
minute or two, and then reappeared again, with a fairly bright intensity.  
Then it disappeared again and the eclipse lasted for several minutes.  
Why?   Why did the crescent appear and reappear a couple of times?
      It could be because the Earth is spinning at a thousand miles and 
hour, the Moon is rotating around the Earth and the Sun is ninety three 
million miles away.  What do you think?  The angles are so precise, and 
the rotation is such that we might be seeing the shadows of the mountain 
ranges as the eclipse takes place.  Is that possible?
