I enjoy these new blackwing pencils. They feel good to write with. I wonder if it's always a problem that pencils need to be sharpened. As a consumer of mechanical pencils, I guess I don't know.


I am spending a strange amount of time looking into NetBSD and other BSDs, thinking about installing it at home and running it, Plan 9 and signing up for the bootcamp, and I'm not sure why. I think that I am really intriged about the sub-culture of it all. That it's even more niche than Linux. When I was new to Linux (probably early 2000s), it was small and hard to deal with. At least that's what I felt like. I remember in my CS classes, we had SGI machines, Sun machines, etc. Now I think Linux has gotten to such a phase that I don't even really know how to run it anymore. But BSD seems more pure and cool. More than that though, I want to be a true "user" of the system. Then I think, wait, why not just use the SDF machines? And be part of it's community? Hopefully I can find my place here.
