25 Mar 2026 Wednesday okay i'm going to try again. strange that, after a hiatus, i found my way back just about a year from when i first signed up for sdf.org (3/17/25). these spaces feel safe to me. we have been working on building a wooden case for my video gear--a mix of analog (mixers, vcrs, a mainbow i DIY'd when i first learned to solder and screwed it up, a color- corrector, etc.), and digital (raspberry pis running VSERPI programs by andrei jay, a recurboy from underscores . shop and a DIY'd _recur_ [also by cyberboy666]). it was hard to unplug everything as i spent over a month wiring my home studio in a few months back--but most of that time was labeling cables, which should make things much easier when i go to rewire it all. on friday i will have my last class of a four- week plate metal jewelry-making class i've been taking. we learned to make copper rings. i hope to eventually put together a kit to keep learning. i also just finished an eight-week class, "Patching with Modular Synthesizers," by Matthew Ryals. the class used VCV Rack. i was so delighted by how much i learned. in two months, i gained more practical skills and a deeper foundational understanding of modular concepts than i have in the last two and a half years or so futzing around with modular stuff on my own. can't recommend it enough!
