07 May 2025 Wednesday somehow ran over a metal stake directly outside our back door this morning, resulting in maximally deflated tire, and lateness to place of employment. typing this from hammock in our back yard, beside one of the little plum trees we planted--"Early Golden Plum." looking at the / towering giant in the yard nextdoor. i got sidetracked after writing 'the.' i went and got my little mini-bin of tree books, and gathered a couple of the long, bronzey, smooth-dragon-scaled cones scattered in the driveway. the tree is so tall the needles are too high up to distinguish much about. there's some weepingness to it, long needled tresses on uptilting branches. i came down to "Norway Spruce." i can't believe how tall. i wonder how long this One has been here. some tree books: * "An Instant Guide to Trees," by Eleanor Lawrence and Cecilia Fitzsimons * "Peterson Field Guide: Eastern Trees," by George A.
