In addition to those that Chris and Joe thank below, I (Joshua Macy) would like to extend thanks to:
- Chris Knight, of AccesSoft, for taking over when Joe Strout had to move on, and
providing MOOP with its pre-SourceForge home.
Chris Knight (claudius in the code) writes:
I can't do justice to all of the kind alpha and beta testers, Python fans,
and random well-wishers who have contributed to the successful development of
MOOP. But decency demands that I give it a try. So here are a few of the folks
who have been most instrumental in shaping MOOP, in no particular order...
- Joe Strout: the initial developer and general genius behind MOOP's
development. His thanks (that I echo) go to:
- Guido van Rossum: thanks for creating Python, the world's best
programming language; and for your help and support in the uncertain days of
the alpha test.
- Amit
Patel: thanks for the msg.py module, which has become one of the
pillars of MOOP, and also for much help and guidance during the alpha phase.
- Andrew Kuchling: you helped me with regexp's which are central to
MOOP, and also generously hosted the POO list archive during the alpha test
-- thanks!
- Zack Roadhouse: thanks for being the first to give MOOP a public
home, on your very own machine, Althor.
- Jeff Epler: you've kept me on my toes since the early days of the
beta test, demanding improvements and often providing them yourself! You've
now written more of the current MOOP code than anyone except me and possibly
Amit Patel. Thanks a million!
- Christian Tismer: thanks for providing a home for the MOOP beta
test and onward into the future on Starship!
- Jake Edge: thanks for being especially diligent and resourceful
in testing custom editors, a powerful (and previously buggy!) feature of
MOOP.
- everyone else: I also extend heartfelt gratitude to all the
alpha- and beta-testers for their patience, helpful bug reports, and
enthusiasm which has kept MOOP alive.
