## 31 Fire

Fire is the only word I saw in the news ! Fire everywhere in France for weeks. Firemen, Water Bomber, Forest Fire... And even Fire Button in the White House. The world seems On Fire. A Surprise ? No, if you had read the GIEC/IPCC report or knew about the "El Nino" phenomenon for this year. All that was announced...except for the Madness of Trump...Hum perhaps also ? 

Well, if you read or watch the news in France, you only hear about the forest fires, uncontrolled fires and the heroism of firefighters. No wars, no conflicts, no Ukraine, Gaza, Taiwan, Sudan, ... only us and our fires. And of course our government is proud to say that they did everything well this year and also for 10 years ago. No Water Bombers ? Because Canadair stopped to build it and nobody was smart to do this...Except that small companies tried but never had promises from world governments to buy and finance that. France is not the only country in the world to have insufficient operational and effective resources to tackle increasingly massive fires. You need to have 4 water bomber in the same place to be efficient. We only had 5 to 7 for the whole country. Imagine with 2 or 3 giant fires. And those heroes, the firefighters, they are underpaid, sometimes severely reprimanded when they ask for a raise or the necessary tools to do their job. ost of them were volunteer firefighters.  

But what news don't talk about is the reasons of those fires. It's only criminal reasons...But if it's so giant, it's because of climate change, ...and the climate change is also caused by our human behavior for years. During the same period, we broke the record of planes in the sky at the same time. Aren't we crazy ? OK, I took planes more than 10 times in my life. I don't know exactly what is the mean number of flights in a life for an earthling. I don't even know if I will take the plane again in the future. The last time, it was for family reasons. Our paradox today is that we need planes for fires...But the planes are not the only reason of climate change. If many countries are using more and more renewable energies, the need for fossile energy is still growing. Our national Energy Company broke record profits. Just because of Trump's war against Iran. 

Do you really think that they are going to produce less Oil, when it's their major source of profits ? And this same company offers free gasoline for the firefighters...So few compared to their 10 billions of profits in only 6 months. They could also plant trees but they won't bring all the animals killed in those fires, all the other plants and species. And they will probably plant the same trees, pine trees for timber production, to be resold on the other side of the world, the same pine trees that are so easy to burn. "Our house is burning, and we are looking the other way." said former French President Jacques Chirac (who did so few against that...). It's still the same !
