## 02 Resistance

16 years ago, I made some posts with a theme on the French Blog. Some did not survive because time has changed and it was a kind of description of the instant, like an Haiku is. Resistance is the word that came in my mind for this week. In France, we had a storm, we had snow in Paris (5cm is the equivalent of 50cm everywhere else, ha ha). Everything is OK for me but 400 000 homes did not have electricity for hours or days. We were worried for the animals around us, like the free cats we are feeding. One cat is in our "garden shelter" and we made a good corner for her with plaids, blankets and old clothes. She likes to be free and won't stay at home. 

But resistance is also a word for what is happening in this world, especially with USA. Inside the country, it's not easy to be for democracy, to protect poor, migrants, nature, ... USA is now a kind of dictatorship because Trump doesn't care of Parliament, Laws, ... He's using force for everything and he knows it's his last mandate as POTUS. He's using force to dissimulate the Epstein Files and other sexual scandals. But he is only doing what he said before, but nobody noticed that or at least believed it was possible to do that in that country. Someone said that in USA, everything is possible...Hum, he didn't know Donald Trump. His Gestapo, the ICE, is deporting migrants, even if they are present legally but do not have the correct papers on them. There are the same concentration Camps than in the 40s with Japanese and other Asians citizens. 120 000 Japanese descent were put in camps in 1942 and lost their jobs, houses, shops, etc...It's only in 1988 that they had a payment of 20 000 $ each. I don't know h
ow many people have lost everything and will die, how many were separated from their family with Trump and the ICE. It's just one part of the tragedies in that country. 

Outside of this country, USA are playing another dangerous game. There was Venezuela but it could be Columbia, Cuba, Groenland, Canada, Guyana, Iran, Philippina, Mars, The Moon...But it gives also a bad example to other dictatorship which could be tempted to kill an enemy, to kidnap a president, to seize power wherever they want, for any reasons. Imagine Taiwan, or if President Putin made this with Lituania, Moldavia, ... OK, France has nothing to say because we made some similar actions during the end of the 20th century in Africa, during the decolonization. When we hear "international law", it's always for western countries and winners. So nothing has really changed, except that it could be between western countries now and a new power, China. Europe has nothing in the hand to resist to that new order in the world.

Speaking of Europe, France seems to be alone to resist to a EU-Mercosur free trade treaty. The reality is more complex because President Macron was for this treaty and then against for electoral reasons, and then for, against, for, against... The main subject in France is Agriculture. Farmers are poor, are in that stupid game of intensive agriculture with always lower prices and more standards than everywhere, just because their leaders are also those who buy at lower price for agri-food industry. Farmers are divided in the same way than French politics : An union for the left, an union for the far right, and the major union for...industry, against agriculture. Stupid to fight against yourself.

Resistance is a famous word in France, during second world war but so few people were in the resistance, or at least not collaborating with the Nazis and the government of Pétain. It seems the same today...My colleagues and neighbors are more and more for the far right, telling lies and untruth. I'm not able to fight these narratives when even the public radio and Tv are infiltrated by the far right ideas. And I don't speak about my own parents...Future seems darker and darker and Resistance seems the right word for that future. I'm asking myself what to do with this blog, hosted in an, from now on, enemy country. I still buy or use services and goods from that country and so is doing Europe. Now it's not only a matter of ethics but a new kind of war, when GAFAM are supporting the evil...
