Something Blue - Memphis Queen Let's Have A Ball intro etc. Part-Time Love All right now, it's The Reba Russell Band recorded live at the ASU Blues Symposium on April 9, 2011. We heard Reba introduce the band while they played a great dance and party song and then we heard "Part-Time Love". The Reba Russell Band is hot. They play at the King Biscuit Festival in Helena every year and they tour all over the world. It was great hearing them in Jonesboro at the ASU Student Center. Coming up now is a Wayne Russell song from their new CD, 8, called "Almost A Memory". Then we'll feature Robert Nighthawk Tooms playing the Willie Dixon classic, "My Babe". Almost A Memory My Babe Oh yeah, Mr Robert Nighthawk Tooms on the harp and vocals doing "My Babe". Now I'm going to feature Josh Roberts and Nighthawk recorded with The Reba Russell Band last year at Bluesday Tuesday. Same Old Blues instrumental ------- Get That Good Man When His Good Woman's Gone When The Lights Go Out Now that's what I'm talking about. It's Reba Russell singing "When The Lights Go Out". Before that we heard an original song called "Get That Good Man When His Good Woman's Gone". The Reba Russell Band performed at the ASU Student Union as part of the Delta Blues Symposium on April 9, 2011. I had the great privilege of opening that show which also featured The Jess Hoggard Band and Sonny Burgess and The Pacers. The music was great all afternoon and The Reba Russell Band topped it all off like icing on a cake. I'm Hairy Larry and you're listening to Something Blue on KASU, the home of the Blues in Northeast Arkansas every Saturday night including Jim "The Generator Man" Drennan at 9:00 right before Something Blue. Here's another original, "Gonna Move To Mississippi" and then she closed her show with a Janis Joplin song, "Piece Of My Heart". Gonna Move To Mississippi Piece Of My Heart All right now, what a great show. Closing us out tonight it's "The Same Old Blues" featuring Robert Nighthawk Tooms recorded on September 14 last year at Bluesday Tuesday. Until next time this is Hairy Larry reminding you once again, Blues is the mainstream.
