Welcome to Something Blue. I'm Hairy Larry with a special show recorded at KASU's Blue Monday at the Red Goose Deli in Paragould, Arkansas on February 21, 2011 featuring The Pot Bellied Stallions. We heard "Red Hot", a Billy Lee Riley tune, and "Rock Around The Clock".

Part of what makes this show special is the story these guys told between the songs so please listen to this great music, many of the original songs were recorded at Sun Studio. 

You will also enjoy the tale of their own trip to Sun Studio where they recorded cover versions of many of the songs we are playing tonight. Sun Studio, in Memphis, Tennessee, was the place where fifties Rock and Roll hits were recorded. Many of the musicians who recorded at Sun were from Northeast Arkansas. Music fans all over the world revere this roots Rock and Roll music and they honor Sun Studio for the important roll it played in the history of Rock and Roll.

And Sun Studio is back in business with a great music show on Public Television and a world class recording studio.

Those of you who enjoy the Blue Monday and Bluesday Tuesday live music know John and Tommy Spencer well. They love to listen to music and they love to play and sing. Some of you may also be fans of the Paragould band, The Shindiggers, featuring Steve Goins, guitar, Skeeter Nash, drums, Brad Owens, bass, and Randy Aden, piano.
