The cedar bugs are invading my house. A new flock of bird is feasting on them. The Blue Jays particularly like eating the cedar bugs. It's the most invasive bug in the region, although they are so slow, they've acclimated very well. Natarajasana, the dancer. It's one of the name of Siva. I woke up, practiced the small bridge, got out of bed, practiced natarajasana on both side. I am working on my lower back. My hips are tilted backward. It give my body the shape that most middle aged people have. Hips rolled backward, the stomach protruding forward, the head and the neck moving forward to balance the whole body. I look like an old man. Most importantly, this posture tend to hurt the lower back, fusing the lower vertebra. It's also a bad alignment for boxing. It blocks me from doing a good rotation of the hips on each movement, the punches or the slips. Practicing Natarajasana every day is a good start, but the forward lunge would also be essential. Maybe Surya Namaskar could be a nice addition? I'm reluctant to practice that flow of yoga as it's so popular. What is important though is what is done off the mat. I've heard that once, that what happen at the gym isn't what's important, since it's only the one hour per few days. What happen outside the gym is really what will change your body. Lets see how I can sustain that practice. I'm recording a series of meditation on visualization starting this morning, all that leading to the pranayantra! Should be quite interesting.
