There are two major elements in the meditation and spiritual journey path. The healing and the energy cultivation. Both elements interact with each other and this division is arbitrary. Some healing is part of the cultivation, while some cultivation is part of the healing. Some practices also integrate both of these elements. In the last few years, there has been a lot of focus on the healing part. Everything spiritual is about healing. To the point that energy cultivation and developing spiritual powers is not part of the journey anymore. You spend all you time healing and there is nothing else. The problem with healing is that it never stops. You have a million things to heal in this lifetime and if you start with past lifetime you'll never be done healing. And if healing your stuff is not enough you can heal the whole planet too since we're all interconnected. Don't get me wrong, healing is a really important part of the process, but focusing only on this, will unbalanced one's life. On the opposite, if you only cultivate your energy and develop siddhi, or spiritual powers, you end up weaponizing your spiritual powers at the guise of your unhealthy emotional body and trauma. If you haven't dealt with your early childhood trauma of abuse, what do you think will happen when you develop powers? These powers will be used to abuse the others, or hurt people that you felt hurt you. I've seen it often, were spiritual master are the most asshole people I've met. They have power, they have done the practices, but they never dealt with their emotional body. They barely can control their anger when they are triggered. It's easy to get lost into the glamour of spiritual power. But I've seen the opposite too. People who only focus on healing. They have become depleted, without much pleasure or vitality. Everything is about healing, so life gives them, again and again, more work to deal with. There is a blockage, a mind spin, that stops them from awakening, because there is always more healing to happen. Just one more trauma, just one more ceremony, just one more wound to open. It becomes a sad energy, that doesn't celebrate the power of being human. There is a moment in life that we have to give up on our small human drama. Yes we're all fucked, yes we all have been abused, yes we've all made mistake. This is the human journey. You can be sad about it and try to fix it all, or just accept it and move along. I was massaging 2 people in the last few weeks and I had a similar feeling, or download. There is something about the excretion, something that needed to leave. It wasn't related to food itself, although they both looked bloated, but it was about the teaching, the learning and the healing. You can eat well, digest well, assimilate well you food, but if you don't poo, all of the rest doesn't help. I feel like this is related to people focusing too much on the healing and not enough on the energy cultivation, and the letting go. When you work on energy cultivation, you have to accumulate, but also let go of a lot of energy. I have weeks or months of energy cultivation to get to the place where I can hold it in anymore. I have to dance or party or have sex and deplete all my accumulated energy, as it's too much for me. Even my nervous system goes on over drive during these time of too much. I think this forced evacuation is really healthy, and is a good flush for anyone's journey. I would say, if you are mostly focusing on your healing, both emotional, psychological, mental and physical, bring a bit more energy cultivation, through chi kung, tai chi, visualization, sexual practices, breathing etc. And if you only cultivate your energy and often get to a wall where you habits and emotional body take over and waste all that energy, work on healing, through plant medicine, reflection, selfless services etc. I find it important to bring back to the table that spiritual practice bring about power. In my last mystical experience, I realized that I've not only seen part of my future, I've also tap into people around me, what they were thinking and saying about me. I could hear and feel the general flow of who and what is around me. Events happened right after which proved that what I saw and what I heard was real. This is just one example of how spiritual power could be used to make one's life better. It could guide you in business or love or help a community go in a better direction. But there is a lot more that could be practice and used.
