Might as well start by pulling from various things I enjoy and learning from their source code. Already been doing a bit of that with a MUCK software I've toyed with[^0], and with an older blogging SSG made in Perl[^0]. Yeah, I know. It's not Rust. I don't care. I prefer the old-school, and it's my choice.[^1] I kinda wanna look through the lynx source code as well, once I have a more solid footing on the basics of C, and of progamming in general again. Perl knowledge can only take me so far with how limited my own skills are, but I gotta (finally) start somewhere, and it's never too late to start trying. Plus, it'll give me a chance to get into ancient code that I've been wanting to dive through. Stuff like old usenet and mail clients, and older DOS BBSes, for example. ... Now I kinda want to set up a local BBS. [^1]: Can you tell I've been severely burned by Rust super- evangelists in the past? [^2]: Not a bad thing, just another item on the list. Maybe I should look into Syncronet or something. |~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~| [0]: https://fuzzball.org
