Skipping, slowdowns, and a number of other problems just really made me disappointed in this particular combo. Even recompiling it myself didn't help, so I'm guessing it's the hardware, not the software. That said, good-old Music Player Daemon works just fine. I've got it set up through PulseAudio, but I plan on adding an Icecast output once I get around to it, just so I can have an internal radio station set up whenever I wanna tune in from another device. I've been pulling from my older Linux knowledge a lot as of late. Newer stuff either just starts falling over on me, or flat out doesn't work how I need it to. I use very few GUI applications as it is, but the whole X vs Wayland thing just kinda turns me off on it even more. Like, people make good GUI apps, but they end up being so buggy or unstable for me that I just kinda don't enjoy using them compared to terminal apps of the same type. Even Emacs "apps" tend to work better for me. Outside of gaming, GIMP, eBooks, and a web browser, pretty much all of my needs on Linux still go toward the terminal. I honestly have my doubts that it'll ever really change from that. Not complaining, though. At least I have what I need. \~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~/
