Markdown for my notes, pseudo-wiki, and writings. HTML written in emacs instead of Dreamweaver. Using `slrn` for newsgroups, and `snownews` for my RSS feeds. I use `lynx` for gopher and some web browsing[^0], and `av98` for gemini stuff. Hell, I've even been considering going back to LaTeX[^1]. To some degree, I could probably live in a terminal again like I did for almost a decade. I don't entirely like that idea, but if it came down to it, I think it'd be possible. Part of me wants to get a Raspberry Pi 500+ and monitor to set up at my desk, but that'd be wasteful right now. I've already got a system I can use...technically[^2]. Thing is, I'm still quite happy with my MacBook Pro and MacOS 10.6.8. I'm using emacs 25.1, and it works just fine. All of my other stuff works well still. Just because it's a little old doesn't mean it's useless. There's only been a couple of packages in MELPA[0] that I've been itching to grab again (mostly elpher and elfeed), but maybe it'll be a good way to get into learning Emacs Lisp for backporting. I mean... I like my retro computing platforms. Might as well /get with the times/ that they're from, so to speak. \~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~/ [^0]: I intentionally make my personal website a fully lynx-friendly site, and encourage those who are part of the indie web and web revival to do the same. [^1]: LaTeX2e is still a familiar old friend, even when I'm not particularly in the mood to deal with its shenanigans. [^2]: I have my Dell Latitude E6430, but the GPU is not supported by many distros, and getting its weird dual GPU setup working manually is nearly impossible. |~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~| [0]: https://melpa.org/
