A lot happened since last year, and I just didn't have it in me to maintain both web and gopher at the time. There was also a lot of negativity going on in the smolnet that I regularly saw, and so I focused myself on the web to help manage my mental health, since I could easily make it mostly read-only for my needs. Gopher is one place that encourages participation in me, even when it's something I need to put a hold to for a bit. That said... I now half-own my family home with my beloved mates, thought at a cost of almost $30,000 USD of debt in a HELOC. My last uncle got his money, but literally 5 days after signing, and only 2 days after getting his money, his wife passed from a lot of medical complications. It's been a whirlwind from start to finish, but we still have a place to call home. That all ended just last month. For roughly 5 months, we were under threat of being homeless, but that's now in the past. We're starting to get a little more comfortable. My mates and I have started getting more into buying physical media for our collections, and I've been spending a *lot* more time offline than online. I've also started using physical notebooks for taking notes, and moving back to more of my pre-Linux habits from the late 1990s and early 2000s. Even while on my MacBook, I turn off the WiFi and just try to get things done. I don't need to subject myself to the madhouse of emotions when I need time to recover. There's a lot more I wanna write about, but not in this post. That all deserves its own topic. \~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~/
