The family got a phone call from Dad's home yesterday. He isn't doing too well, and we are bracing ourselves for what might come. I have basically accepted that a man of his age who took ages to seek any treatment for Parkinson's is probably living on borrowed time, so it's a bit of a limbo state for me. I don't want to sink into worry about a situation I can do nothing about anyway, but I do want to prepare myself for what might come while keeping my sanity. It's a bit of a tightrope walk. We went to see him, he was in no state to communicate. The truth is that even when he can hold any sort of conversation at all, it's difficult. But my mother and I felt it was important. Don't forget your family, they won't be around forever.
