Great social experience coming up for me, I am having a belated birthday (or is it post-birthday?) restaurant outing with family and friends at Barcode Street Food in Oslo. I am really looking forward to seeing the newly engaged couple, my best friend (since elementary) Arthur the pilot and his very charming Hungarian girlfriend Becca, who is a talented cybersecurity geek. I couldn't be happier for them both. I can never go to these things without thinking about the food, though. I have been there before and it was quite nice. I had tonkatsu with rice last time, but the Japanese booth seems to be closed today. Damn. But I'm sure I'll find something nice to enjoy with some wine. It looks like I might even be gifted a bottle of Garnacha, the word is getting out that I am becoming a bit of a red wine aficionado as I age. My life isn't perfect, but you really have to hold on to the great things while you can.
