I sometimes visit the National Library, which retains just about every book published in Norway, for reading on the library premises. A great source, for example, for older niche computing books. There is also a nice bakery right next to it, further down the slope on the side of the building heading to the pier. So I enjoyed a little trifecta, first the reading, then a nice slice of cake with some coffee, then the pier. As I saw a majestic (at least to my eyes, as someone who rarely leaves terra firma) ferry coming in, I realized that I had not taken the hour-long island round trip in the Oslo Fjord which is something of a tradition for me every summer. Neither the queue nor the waiting time were long, so I went for it even though I had to bake in the sun for a total of ten minutes, surrounded by tourists. It was more than worth it. The boat had WiFi, but I made an effort to actually look out of the window from time to time. Good day, great even.
