Another year another phlog!

Recently I have been learning more about Common Lisp.
It seems to be a very mature language, but I don't know
how the optimizer or runtime works well enough to choose
one construction over another. I do however not like
that the empty list is treated as false. Scheme gets
a +1 for that one.
