That was a burger It's been a while (months) since I did happy hour with my son. So we headed out at 330 PM for our local joint, barely a mile from the house. On the way out my wife suggested that I bring takeout home for dinner. While sitting at the bar I noticed the burger of the month was The Friendsgiving. A beer patty, ham patty, turkey, Gouda, LTO, and a cranberry bourbon smear on a pretzel bun. It was probably 5000 calories, but it was so good. Tomorrow (Saturday) is one of my least favorite days of the year. I'm going to winterize the camper, so it'll be put away until sometime in early April 2026. I had a fun experience on Mastodon this week. George Takei posted about someone's insane increase in health insurance due to the Republicans. Their policy is going from $825 to about $1300. I left a comment that my policy is going from $837 to $2155. That got me a reply from Takei. The comment was, "That's just absolutely insane." The election results in the US this week gave me a glimmer of hope that I have not felt all year. My state of Virginia kicked the Republicans in the nuts, metaphorically speaking. Hopefully some Republican legislators will start to fear for their jobs more than they fear Trump.
