Cheap Courseware from a Expensive Private School

Private schools in China are for the well-to-do class. Not your
average middle class professionals, but those who are lucky enough to
have a good family, great education, and managed to grasp one or more
opportunities in China's 40 years of Open and Reform.

These schools are symbols of the parents' success and their
expectations on their children. However, recent COVID-19 pandemic
seems to have exposed mediocre teaching at some of these schools.

Kaiwen Academy is an international K-12 school in Chaoyang District of
Beijing. The tuition is charged at 200K RMB per year. Due to the
pandemic, students in Beijing have to stay at home and conduct
