A letter to Professor Copperland's Assistant, ~ The Observatory ~ University of Almas 85th day of Summer, year 914 sfE Dear colleague, my name is Aya. I'm a fourteen years old human girl. I like poetry and philosophy, which is fortunate, since I am owned by the University of Dabesh. Since mail is free between our academic institutions, I sought from my tutor, Professor Pallas Buberes PhD., to initiate correspondence with you. Happily, I was most graciously granted this privilege. I believe Professor Buberes hast sent a letter to your tutor, asking him to grant you permission to respond to my correspondence. I hope you forgive my initiative without asking you first, but, as you, I lack freedom in most matters. So, please respond even if it's only to say goodbye. You are the only other person in all Aldar who is also an specimen in the 12-3A Experiment. Your colleague, Aya. Answer to Aya, Professor Pallas Buberes's Assistant, ~ The Garden of the Owl ~ University of Dabesh --o-o-o-- --o-o-o-- A letter to Aya, Professor Pallas Buberes's Assistant, The Garden of the Owl University of of Dabesh 02/Fall/914 Dear Aya. Thank you very much from all my heart and soul for your letter. I'm a thirteen years old boy myself and I believe I'm completely human, but my mom never knew her parents, so there's some chance I am bit trasgrin. Not orc, like not at all, I'm too wimpy and short. Dwarf, I don't know, I don't think so, for the wimpy thing. As for halfling, well... I don't think I'd be that lucky. I like most subjects, but as my tutor is an Astronomer, that is what I know best. I actually sleep in a room of the observatory and many nights he takes to me to watch some vagabond star. I help with the preparations, but not with the telescope, just the food and the chocolate. Professor Copperland is kind enough to pour me half of his own cup, and just in case you have never taste chocolate I can tell you is sweet, hearty and makes you happy inside. That said, or written, I don't know much else to write you about. My life isn't the most exciting and... in the end I'm just a student who doesn't go home, because I'm home already, in a sense. So, please write back. I hope we can become good friends. I need somebody who is, in a sense, like me. Your little white mouse, Koy
