A wee vi/vim 'trick' that I just discovered last week, though it might be ancient history for many among you. Let's suppose you have several files to edit, to, fix some grammar issues orwhatever changes which are just hard to code, or would not make sense for the trouble. Or youjust want to review them... So just opened all the files as a list 'vim file1 file2 file3' or just 'vim *' for all the files in a folder. Vi/Vim will show the first file. Edit it. Then, to save it go and type ':wn' which will save the file and leads us to the next in the list. To return to a previous file ':wp'. When you are done ':q' or ':wq' will close vi/vim as usual. 2025-05-15 15:39:30
