date: Mon 15 Dec 2025 09:18:17 PM PST subj: twins meet santa pictures family --------------------------------------------------- Son tomorrow is a big day. We all get to go on another adventure. We are going to meet Santa with grandma, grandpa, and the uncles. I wake up earlier than I usually like to on Sunday. My wife is already up, she's been up with the babies for awhile. She didn't get very much sleep last night. Today is a big day for us. She planned to get a family photo with Santa at Nordstrom's. She coordinated with the uncles, and her parents. We all meet there at 12:45 PM for a photo. For us this means leave early because we have a long trip across the ferry. I'm pretty excited to go to grandma and grandpa's house with our babies. We haven't been there yet, so this is their first time. After the pictures we are all to hang out there and eat pizza. We didn't make time for breakfast, but my wife did make us coffee. I had a couple of cups, and she didn't even drink hers. It was all about getting the babes ready. I dressed up in my old Dickies pants, and a wonderful wool sweater my wife gave me as a gift from one of her work trips to Dublin Ireland. My wife was looking beautiful in a nice winter sweater with bluejeans, and fancy ear rings. She dressed our babies in matching ginger bread men winter holiday season onesies. Skipping breakfast at home we had to leave to catch a ferry. The drive was nice to the ferry and although we just missed the our boat, it was still a fine ride. I promised my son the night before I would take him out on the boat. So we walked up to the restroom got a fresh diaper and then watched the boat crash into the waves whipped up by the winds. The ferry boat was swaying more than normal. He was looking around at everything, and spent a decent amount of time when we were near the window watching those waves hit the boat. We planned to stop at McDonalds to get some bad food for a guy my age, and a iced coffee. Cutting it close tried to order food while on the way but when we arrived six minutes past eleven, we were denied breakfast food, oddly enough we had to wait to get regular food, during their menu change. Good enough for me, stops were part of today's trip. The babes were happy in their seats riding in the car. Our daughter chatting and sometimes our son would join in, as we cruise down the highway. Eee, ahhhh, eeeh, eeaah, says my daughter, as she talks above my wife and I. I love hearing our babies vocalizing. Eventually we arrive at our destination early, sit and people watch in the parking lot, then get the double wide stroller out to wheel the babes into Nordstrom's to meet Santa and the family. It was great to see the uncles. We haven't seen them since around early June. Their faces shocked by house big the babes have become. In line waiting our turn we all smile and say high. The babes look on at the new faces and all the activity. They haven't seen their uncles since they were about a month old. That's a lot of time in a babies life, lots of changes have occurred. The twins are mostly shocked to see their uncles with everyone else around, as well as people passing by. Grandma and Grandpa are there too. We maneuver our stroller to the next position in the queue and prepare for picture time. Our turn we get a brief talk with Santa. We are trying to get a picture with both babes with Santa and one with our family + twins + Santa. My wife ask Santa if he can hold both babies. He is apprehensive fearing they will wiggle out of his hands therefor dropping them, nor does he want to squeeze them so tight they break. I laugh about all this. They are just little babies, but whatever you do, DO NOT HURT THE BABIES, DO NOT DROP THEM. A people have to express their concerns to get approval sometimes. My wife and I assure Santa, they kids will not wiggle enough for anything bad to happen. I set my son on Santa's left knee, and my wife sets our daughter on his right knee. The kids are compounded by Santa, and what is going on. They just look up at him wondering who is this person, why does he look so strange, might be something in their mind, but we'll never know. The camera man attempts to get their attention so they stop looking at Santa, but with all the noise and Santa being a lot closer than the camera man with is glittery wand, the kids attention is glued to Santa. Mom goes behind the camera man to help. For a moment they look over at her. I laugh inside as I watch it all unfold. I'm mostly happy our children aren't upset, and attempting to wiggle loose. A little luck strikes and the camera captures a good picture. The babes are stone faced. A picture is a picture though. Now its time for the entire family who's present. Tallest in the back, then shorter people in the front. I'm luckily enough to be taller than most of our family so I squees behind Santa. The one of the uncles does as well, then grandpa, :) everyone thinks they are tallest. Instructions once aren't enough with all the excitement, but we gather around Santa enough to get a picture. All of it happened in about 4 minutes. Each family gets 3 minutes time. Got to get everyone in the store enough time to get a nice photo with Santa. At grandma and grandpa's the babes roll around, and play. Uncle Arron, re-introduced to our daughter, uncle Alex feeds his nephew. We all have a good time, with the babes at the center of attention. People enjoy some pizza and a little talking, but time goes by so dang fast, and the uncles have to depart for something else. Grandpa holds his grand daughter, she likes to grab his face, and he makes great funny faces at her, she enjoys. I really like seeing our children at their grandparents. Every chance we get is a treat, nobody is getting any younger round here. The babes, my wife, and I hang out with grandma and grandpa for awhile before heading home just after dark, just before 5 PM.
