She often gets reflux if laying in her bed/crib, but if she is laying on one of her parents her reflux is much better. So at night sometimes I have to have her on my lap. Grandma had an idea, they have found a way to train us. I said certainly have. In this case I'm not sure of it just because my daughter's reflux looks so painful. She has an eruption of white formula flowing from her nostrils and mouth and she seems like she can't breath. Inevitably if I walk out of the room the eruption happens. Just the right circumstance tonight I turned to look at the monitor. I see her in a position where her back is arched and her head is back as far as she can get it, I rush back into the room to help her. I calm her and she relaxes as her fear passes. I love having my daughter here on my lap while I write something about our lives. Fathers day was a nice day. Our family came over. The uncles where here meeting their niece and nephew for the first time. Grandma and Grandpa were here too. It was pizza and salad for what we call Lunner. Lunner is a term for lunch/dinner. I had a lot of little things to do all day keeping the baby feeding machine going while my wife hung out with the family. Grandma and Grandpa held our daughter, I cleaned bottles, and dishes. I took care of the kids while my family ate. I like it that way. A dad gets to see his family enjoy each other's company, and that makes me happy. I fed my child while the family ate. After my wife was finished eating I got to eat and hang out with those left at the table. We talked about anime (which I've loved for a long time, older anime), which caused grandpa to leave the table for more exciting things, like baseball. Uncle showed me his minecraft server with some of the mods and some cool tech. My wife gave me a really nice card. Nobody got hurt, and although the smoke alarm went off, everything turned out pretty good. Uncles left close to 4PM and so the men walked them out to say goodbye. Grandma and Grandma got walked out by all of us. Then we went back in and had a moment for just the 4 of us and the cat. At night my babes we went to the nursery and I got to feed my son, then told him why most ceilings are painted white. He just looked at me the entire time, like I was telling the greatest story. My daughter in the bouncer next to us felt a little left out and let me know with some wining. So I told them both about the pictures of space flight mommy put on the wall, and astronauts. I told them they can pretend they are the people in the sled going down space mountain, or the two in outer space, seen in another picture. One of them in the craft and the other in the space suit. The person in the craft makes sure everything is working well and helps the other in the suit when they re-enter the space craft. We talked about how I'll read a good sci-fi space epic and they can draw whats in their imagination on paper while I read. I shared a little of my childhood drawing friends and how Austin showed Mike Christ and I how to draw clouds and exhaust from space crafts. Eventually my son grew tired of stories and fell asleep in the chair with me. He can't fall asleep without being with his mom or dad right now. I think his body remembers when he first came home. It was just my wife, him, kitty, and myself. So at night he got to sleep on one of us. I know I really love having him fall asleep with me in the chair. I wish we both could but daughter also needs us, so when he falls asleep I get our daughter so she doesn't erupt. -------------------------------------------------------------- I hope I can last long enough to be the person in my wife's card to our family. I know its a tall order, a big ask from the universe. Time will tell us the answer.
