subj: new parents -- twins good day --------------------------------------------------------- Today was pretty good. I didn't get much sleep last night and I had to forego ZaZen, but sometimes that happens. All of us met up with another baby and his parents for a walk to ice-cream, and trip to the library. I was great to hear other parents talk about their child and their experiences with a baby similar to the age of ours. Our son and daughter are noticing things like us, and other things. We see them looking at specific things and not just having their eyes open in their own world. They notice when we bring the bottle near them. We can tell because they stop crying out. This development makes us happy. Our daughter although still really small is reflexively standing when putting her in the standing position and she can hold herself there for a bit. She looks at the black and white play-pin dots and seems to stare at them for awhile. Our son is pushing more with his legs, and also making a lot more eye contact. Our babies although different in size are both becoming much more complicated. They aren't as easy as when they were newborns, although back when we first had them home I thought we wouldn't get this far, but now they are in a fussy mode. Our daughter started crying out during her feeding. We think its due to a cold bottle but we don't always have time to warm it while dealing with her twin. About four days after she started crying out when eating her brother decided it was a good idea. They don't do it during every feeding but it certainly is saying, they are tired. The babies have definite active periods. They are starting to go through energy spurts where they want more than being in their crib, and then they get tired and very fussy. Sometimes they will cry a bit then fall asleep for an hour, then wake up for three hours and fuss about. I see why they would fuss, often times both parents are not available to hold them and give them enough attention. This hurts us a bit, and I hope all will turn out for them. had to cut this short, babies call.
