Our son was hanging out in the living room watching Cars the movie, and laying on his blanket. Daughter seemed to decided happiness depended on one of her parents to join in with the blankets and watching Cars. This was indicated by her carrying her blanket, and winning while walking into the kitchen. Mom said I think she wants you to hang out with her. Normally I'm in the kitchen working on stuff but my wife beat me to all the activities. So I told my daughter, "OK OK come on lets get over here," as I walked with her to the carpet where her brother was, I brought the blanket with us. I sat myself up against the couch, held the blanket, and my daughter grabbed her baby (Stitch) sat down between my legs, wined for me to put the blanket over her legs. She leaned back, and wanted me to put my hand on her belly. This was probably one of the cutest things. So we watched the movie, and she squeezed my hand, and hugged her Stitch. I've never seen my son, or daughter interested in their blankets before. For whatever reason, this evening the blanket was very important. My son laid on his blanket. Wanted me to cover him up so only his head was uncovered. Then he would re-adjust himself and the blanket so he was mostly on top of it, but still he would lay down as if he was covered. One time he laid on his back and I covered him up to his neck. He put his hands behind his head and smiled. I think for about forty-five minutes he played with his blanket, getting up carrying it, wanting me to put it over his shoulders, fussing when he was sitting on it and it wasn't covering him. All the while my daughter was content if she and I had the blanket on. All that was required was that the blanket be partially over my leg. I've never seen my kids really care about a blanket and tonight they wanted to bring them with them around the house. Our daughter is trying to say "Uh Oh." Our son is trying to say "uuuh O." I hope daycare, and being around the other kids is helping them, blanket play is new possible from daycare. In the mornings on the way to daycare both kids are chatting a bit during the ride. When the kids get put down on the floor at daycare, immediate crying. Today I had to escape. Sad they were upset. Upon pickup when they see mom, oh boy they are so happy to see her. Even I get a little love. my son wants me to pick him up. I think he wants to get home.
