21 Jul 2025 ------------ Five months just passed since I became a member of this amazing community. My username is aonareile. It is "monorail" in Scottish Gaelic. I am not a Scot but I like Scotland a lot. However, I didn't just pick a random word from the dictionary - this was actually the first Gaelic word that I figured out by myself when my son saw a monorail and asked. May not be very exciting to everyone but it is more or less a memorable moment with my kid. I consider myself a coder (not knowing enough to be a developer) but I code less and less at work. I studied in computer science but didn't really study very hard until around 5 years ago, when I realise there are a lot of things I don't know. Every night since then, I would borrow a couple hours from the next day to write programs, learn new stuffs, improve my computer's configs, tinker with some microcontroller boards, work on things that never end. I am using a mini PC that is more than 10 years old. I started using it since my laptop died. I believe I will continue using it for quite a while unless one day it gives up on me. It is so old that it can't run any modern browsers or any fancy applications. But it doesn't bother me at all, for I am a shell- dweller. :) When I am doing my things at late night, when the family is asleep, I listen to music. Not very surprising, right? I like Irish and Scottish traditional/ folk music, and over the years I have learned that this is a conversation killer. But I like what I like, and I respect everyone's music preference. Probably due to profession, or how my brain works, I am very sure I can't be a great blogger who can write fancy stories or amazing daily sharings. So what I will do is to put my whole playlist, one tune/song at a time, into my phlog. "Goodnight, and joy be with you all."
