Party! Went to a monthly expat meeting (or party) at the Setubal Cultural Center, which Joy and I had stumbled across earlier in the week. It was very nice Joy counted as many as 50 people there, and at one point they paused discussions to introduce the newbies. Met a fellow photographer there, although a REAL photographer, a pro who has shot New York Fashion Week for years. Although he's also an IT tech nerd like me, so, yet another IT guy who uses his job to afford his art. He and his wife were both from Ireland, but had worked in the US so long they had very little accent. It was a nice party but I had a second beer, which was a mistake as I started to get a bit tipsy. But nothing bad, just that I like beer but I don't like to be drunk. After a month in country it WAS pleasant to be among other expats, speaking English and talking about Wisconsin and stuff like that. On the tech front I had to restart my download from the cloud, but I moved the process over to my Mac Mini, so I can leave that running and do other things with my laptop, so that's a win. I had had to do brain surgery to get rclone working with Google Drive, but to move the process over I simply had to copy the rclone configuration file over, so that was sweet. Today Joy is off for a walk with women she met at the party yesterday. I want to start working out again (I stopped after my migraine because I just didn't feel up to it), but I also want to start getting ready for our trip up north to shoot the eclipse. Decisions! Okay, off to take a shower and start my day.
