Settling In Ah, progress! Since the last post a lot has finally been accomplished We received our refrigerator, and we got the Internet installed. This latter was a big boost to my morale, as I was also able to connect my Plex music server (on a Raspberry Pi) to the wifi box, and now I have my music back, as well as my Portuguese lessons (Michel Thomas Portuguese). We also went yesterday as a group (wife, wife's sister, wife's sister's wife) and selected furniture at Conforama, a local furniture store. Couches, recliners, an office desk and chair for me, a microwave. All supposedly to be delivered on Tuesday. We'll see! But we've passed Critical Comfort Mass at this point - we have places to sit in every room, and enough food storage capability that we can cook most of our meals. Also I was excited to discover that our local park has a small collection of work-out equipment. I have yet to get over there and catalog it, but I fully intend to make working out a regular part of the routine. It's simple can-be-outdoors kind of stuff like arm-support bars for doing dips and leg-lifts. This is plenty for me, since I have literally nothing at the moment - I could do wall push-ups and calisthenics. But it's very exciting to finally, after two weeks, be settled into our apartment enough to be comfortable and to think about something other than "Where's the stepstool, I need something to sit down on?"
