README for little.nhlink.net AT&T 3B2 archive section, last updated: Wed May 14 08:29:19 EDT 1997 This is the README file for the anonymous FTP logon on little.nhlink.net. I set up this archive to help fill the void left when the archive on ucqais was shutdown. This site contains most of the old ucqais archive, along with software for the 5620/630/730 DMD terminals (mostly a few games) and FAQs for the 3B2, DMD, and a couple of tip sheets for using StarGROUP 3.2 with versions 5.x and 6.x of DOS. Contributions of new code are gladly accepted in /pub/contrib. If you do have code to donate please drop me a note so I know what the code does. If you are planning to download any of the binaries available on little please see the README.binary file. Little.nhlink.net (204.89.239.98) is a Sun Sparc 5 running Solaris 2.5.1 located at the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University. The files stored here have been compressed using the GNU gzip utility. Those with a .z extension were compressed with gzip V 1.0.6, files with .gz were compressed using gzip V 1.24. Both versions are available on little. The gzip packages are located in the gnu subdirectory as: gzip.tar.Z gzip.124.tar.Z Compress itself is available in the utils subdirectory in the off chance you don't have it. Now to thank some people for making this possible. First thanks go to Ed McNeeley, (past) Director of College Computing, for allowing me to indulge my affection for 3B2s. A round of thanks to David Breneman for supplying me with the lion's share of the contents found here, and a really good deal on a 3B2/600 that helped make the original "little" machine surplus. A big thank you to Steven Kilby for building the orignal site that supplied most of this wonderful code. Last, but not least, thanks to all those who ported the code found here to the 3B2, any of us who have tried to build "portable" code on a 3B2 know that this often is not an easy or pleasant task.
