Lifepo4 26650 A123 Systems
I cant come up with concrete measurements on several loads nicely
put in diagrams and put it in comparison to other Lion bateries.
All I can tell is my experience over the last 6 months on a daily
use.
First of all I´m really glad that this type of battery is much more
safe than reagular lithium-ion batteries. When it is missused and
overloaded it wont catch fire, it just will get really hot in worst
scenario. In my two years of vaping and experimenting with these
li-ion batteries something like a gassing battery has never occured
to me (knock on wood) although this just happens when there is
something fundamental wrong in your setup. But yeah this doesnt mean
that a device with lifepo4 is something like a toy you dont have
to pay attention to (:
When I have to compare it to standard li-on I would describe it to
something with the capacity of an 18650 Sony VTC5 with more power
than a 21700 Samsung 30T and the feeling of an regulated device with
two batteries becauseof the constant voltage level from full charge
to empty. You notice when the battery comes to it´s end. The last
10 puffs get a little weaker and from now to then almost nothing and
it´s ready for change.
There will be no damage from a deep discharge! Super cool for an
unregulated device without low voltage cut off. The battery is the
cut off itself.
In my perception, maybe its just imagination, the battery gets weaker
after some usage when I return something like an hour later.
But I cant really proof and its absolutely no deal.
The charger is nothing special at all. I use something cheap from
XTAR with 2 bays where I can set the charge cut off by switch to
3.6V.
Due to the size of battery and device its more something for at
home. For me its a device which has either full power or it´s empty
and I have to change battery because it doesnt work at all.
Its a bit more difficult to guess the battery state.
But this is also something nice I think.
