Cheep concrete dome

You make a huge pile of soil with your tractor, as big as you want. You lay
rebar and
pour concrete on your soil dome. You then dig out all of the soil with you
tractor and pile
it on top of your concrete dome. Plant your garden on top of your house.
Interior temp
stays stable year round. The house reported built this way was 3000 square feet
and was
built for less than $10,000.

Subject: Earthship houses -- are they practical for PS survival

The short answer is no. Construction is typically not strong enough. Building
up mass
to store solar energy heat is fine for normal use. During a pole shift, large
masses are
subject to strong acceleration forces of earth quakes. As a result they will
move and
break up the structure. Old tires are typically held in place by only gravity.

Some of the technology used in and around earthships could be applicable.
Conserving
rain water technology is applicable to PS survival. Use of solar for heating
and electricity
is not applicable. The use of wind power is applicable. In general there is
not enough
technology in building earthship houses that is practical for after PS survival.
Now once
the sun comes back after 20 years then that is another story. This technology
then
becomes practical.
